Olympus Camera

Finally back for all the treks. So much things to blog don’t really know where to start. Think I shall start with the non-trip related stuff first. Well after much “contemplation” and “mental struggle” finally decided to get the Miu790SW Olympus camera. Reason being can bring it for my treks and also to bring it for my SEP in time to come.

After scouting around Harvey Norman and Courts, I finally bought the camera from Cathay photo at Marina Square for $470. Both Harvey and Courts selling at $550 but give an extra “free” gift of 2 GB memory card. I check with the sale person at Cathy and realize that the 2GB card cost $70. That explain the “free” gift I guess. Don’t really need that “free” gift hence decided to buy at Cathy.

In addition, I got a 2GB Creative Stone Plus as a free gift too. Haha although I am skeptical about how “free” is it, but it seems like everywhere is selling this camera with this Creative Stone package so no option for me to “reject” this free gift too. ( I am trying to sell it off cause I recently just bought a MP3 player =( those interested can leave a tag, not trying to earn $ but I seriously think the price is included in the $470. It is still in its original packaging and I willing to sell it at 70~80. Retail price is 99)

Camera wise it’s not too bad, as seen from pictures from later post. In terms of quality there is still room for improvement especially under poor lighting. But with good lighting the pictures turn out rather alright. The plus point is definitely the waterproof function. As proven during Datuk Recce, while most cameras went into hiding when the rain started, mine is still happily snapping away =). This and together with the sand/soil proof capability definitely makes the Miu790SW camera a good companion for any outdoor activities.

Feels weird to use a camera to take the picture of another camera. But this picture turns out quite pro though =)
