2.1.08

Time to sit down with a cup of coffee and do some updating of my blog =) Realized that I've been backdating on my entries but never the less I will try to catch up soon.

First of all Merry Xmas to all! ( Although it's like super belated ) and Happy New Year (1 day late only) ! May everyone have a wonderful year ahead!

Since my last entry about my second Gunung Datuk trip this holiday the following has occurred
: Northern Island Expedition
: Berkelah Waterfall
: Gunung Datuk trek ( my 3rd)

Shall try to fill them in here soon haha.

Northern Island Expedition (NIE)

This activity came totally out of the blue. I was suppose to go for my Berkelah Recce that weekend when the flood in JB got worst and roads to Kuantan was closed ( luckily the rods reopened in time for the actual trip). And feeling bored (and sort of 没事做,找事做), decided to join the NIE organised by NUS canoe club. Thanks to Brandon aka my super nice Punggol neighbour, me, Seng, Gs and Clara manage to sign up super last minute.
Seng, Clara, Gs and me

Was suppose to go round Ubin but due to the lousy weather and safety issues aroused during the recent drangon boat accident in Cambodia, the route was changed =( End up instead of round Ubin, we kayaked from Par Siris to Changi, back to Connie Island and back to Par Siris. Unfortunately, not a very interesting route as compared to the original one.

Gs and Seng on the other one
My v. nice neighbour Brandon haha

The flooding kayak cockpit =(
Lunch at over stopover at Changi Village. P.s. got the one opposite the green and white signboard. Theirs is seriously better.

Made a point to organise one more expedition amoung ourself to go to Ubin and this time round in a single (the NIE was in doubles) and maybe do some refresher on my 2 star skills. (But heard that to kayak to Ubin now we need a permit. Nvm thanks got Gs to check it out for us)

Didn't really communicated with rest of the participants as we are happily rubbish-ing in our group of 4 haha. Felt a bit guilty towards the end cause we made alot of noise ( more than the remaining participants combine) and sort of stole away the whole limelight ha! Enough said, photos! (Finally got to put my Olympus camera to the test : sea water. Not bad it survived haha)

Pigging at Cartel after a day's of kayaking

p.s. thanks Brandon for squeezing us in so last minute =)

p.p.s ahh now is 4a.m. waited almost 2 hours for the photos to be uploaded onto photobucket. Don't know why today so slooooow. Berke post have to wait then.
